"Saint Fe"

Today started alright, but things didn't go as planned this afternoon. About 30 miles outside Las Vegas, NM, something went wrong in the engine and we had to pull off the road near a small town with one repair station. After waiting on a tow-truck, we got the car to the station and Sam, the mechanic, took a look. Well, basically all he did was yank out the the belt that snapped and showed me that due to a malfunctioing water pump, part of the engine had just died... Ultimately it was my father-in-law's call and he decided the effort to try and save the car cost more than the automobile was actually worth.
So currently we're waiting on our rescue team; Candess' sister and her husband, Livia and Scott, are on thier way here from Flagstaff. We were supposed to be staying with them this evening at thier apartment, but now we're going to be sharing a hotel room and heading back to the shop tomorrow to get the rest of our stuff... and THEN we can finally head to Arizona.
It's challening trying to find what good will come out of having just one car while trying to start new jobs. We will save money on gas... but right now that's all I'm getting. Hopefully in a few months, we may be able to afford to get something to just use around Phoenix and not take cross-country.
I suppose another way to look at it is that nothing severe happened on the Interstate. There could have been a major accident AND it's a good thing we had two vehicles so we were able to drive, not walk, to the nearest town for help. And Pecoes, NM didn't seem like the most exciting place to spend the night... no offense.
Laters,
